A proposal that will probably not be everywhere meet with approval and are not just for devout Christians in question is not, that's clear to me. However, there are certainly some People who are out of habit rather than from faith in the church.
is religiosity, which is clear to me something very personal and often a complex matter, which is all different for everyone. I for one could tell me, despite a degree, continuously present "basic belief" - make friends not seen in many years with the institutional church. Nevertheless, I still paid each month, the church tax, because first I have the 50 € is not considered honorable end of the month really missing, and secondly, the Church is also in charge of many social projects and institutions, and so far not thoroughly evil and useless.
Some time I have a friend says that he has withdrawn the money but instead donate to a charity. I found that this was a great solution, am also out of them and donate the money now on MSF and Greenpeace . I have so for me the feeling that I had with the money now can help direct, as I am sure that most of the church tax for such a huge bureaucratic apparatus is required and only a small number are actually located in social projects.

Please do not get me wrong: he who feels comfortable in the church, I will not instigate the exit! I want to with this post just an impulse the supply for people like me, have no real reference to church more, but you may like to support a social or environmental organization would, it can be let go even once through the head.
